Mr. Burton died on June 1, 2009 in Evangeline. He was a lifelong resident of Evangeline and an Iota High School graduate, class of 1991. He served in the U.S. Army and loved to hunt and fish. He was a boilermaker in the construction business. He loved his nieces and nephews and loved sharing the joy of fishing with small children.
Survivors include his parents, Jude and Barbara Fontenot Burton of Evangeline, two brothers, Jude Charles Burton, Jr. of Tee-Mamou, and Shelby (Cotton) Burton and wife Toni of Tee-Mamou; two nieces, Rheagan Burton and Hannah Burton; two nephews Holden Burton and Collin Deville.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis and Gertrude Burton and Shelby and Stella Fontenot.
