DOROTHY COLEMAN

Lisbon - Dorothy M. Coleman of 321 W. Maple St. passed away ?? a.m. Sunday a-in the emergency room at Salem Community Hospital after she had taken ill at home.

Mrs. Coleman was born Nov 27, 1916 in Wayne Township the daughter of the late Charles L. and Hazel (Benner) WElch and had lived her entire life in the area.

a 1935 graduate of Lisbon High School she worked as a cook for 12 years at McKinley Elementary School until her retirement in 1982.

She was a member of the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church and had taught Sunday School at the former Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Coleman also was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Lisbon Senior Citizens. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling in fact she had visited 47 of the 50 States of America.

Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Douglas in 1944 and by her second husband Lorain Coleman Sept 8, 1968.

She is survived by her daughter Pat Coleman of Lisbon, son, David L. Coleman of Youngstown, brothers Karl H. Welch of Salineville and Leonard Welch of New Garden and nephew Karl L. Welch of Ravenna.

Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by daughters Irene Kiko and Darlene Coleman and grandson Douglas Kiko.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Eells Leggett Stauffer Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark R. Wilds of her church officiating.

Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
