B. F. Breiner, 97, dies after long illness
Benjamin F. (Frank) Breiner, 97, of 324 North Third street , well known lifelong resident of Adams county, and a former county commissioner, died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday at the Adams county memorial hospital.
Mr. Breiner had been in failing health for several years, but hospitalized for only one day.
Mr. Breiner, active in Democratic party circles his entire life, served two terms as county commissioner, having been elected in 1926 and in 1928.
Born in Kirkland township Oct. 10, 1869, he was a son of William and Mary Ann Hower-Breiner. His first wife, Sarah C. Christ, preceded him in death in 1948, and his second wife, Minnie Weller, died in 1962.
Mr. Breiner was a member of the Methodist church and the Red Men lodge.
Surviving are one son, Roma C. Breiner of Decatur ; one sister, Mrs. Goldie Schieferstein of near Bluffton; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One daughter, Marie; three brothers and two sisters are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Winteregg-Linn funeral home, with Rev. Fhurman Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur Cemetery . Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Thursday until time of the services.
