WESTFIELD, NC (Collinstown Community) ~ Mrs. Dovie Mae Shelar Smith, age 101, of Westfield died Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
She was born January 6, 1915, in Stokes County to the late Henry & Elizabeth Wilson Shelar.
Mrs. Smith was a member of State Line Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Bernie Shelar, of High Point, NC, and lots of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Smith; sister, Lois Shelar, and brothers: Dallas Shelar, Paul Shelar, Randall Shelar, Harvey Shelar, John Shelar, Elijah Shelar, George Washington Shelar, & Claude Shelar, Sr.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 11 a.m. at State Line Primitive Baptist Church conducted by Elder Jerry Cox & Elder Rodney Marshall with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.
