Julia Lawrence was born to Edward Luther Lawrence aged 25 years, who was born in Smith's Grove Ky, and Emily V. Jones Lawrence aged 19 years who was born in Reedyville, Ky..

Julia Lawrence married Arthur William Taylor on April 27, 1904 at the brides home near Jones, Okla. I (Johnny Steele) remember very little of my Grandparents because of my young age.. I was 5 years old at the time of Grandfathers death.

Grandmother lived until I was 13 and was living in our home and was very ill for the last few years.. I do remember her taking in sewing and laundry and helping to clean chickens on Saturday mornings prior to her becoming ill. Grandmother could wring a chickens neck faster than most people could understand what had happened. 20 to 30 chickens was a good Saturday morning.. Always meant fried chicken on Sunday. The city folks would come pick up their chicken orders in the afternoon. Grandmother was a very gentle person, but very stern and set in her ways.. We all liked Grandmother. See the Bio of Arthur William Taylor for more details.
