Mary E. Cresap, Patterson

Mary Eloise Cresap, 85, of Patterson died of respiratory failure Nov. 28, 1998 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 2) at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset with Pastors Herold McElwee and Marc Rucklos officiating. Burial was at the Old Altoona Cemetery, Altoona.

Mary Cresap was born Dec. 23, 1912, in West Branch to Walter L. and Ethel (Branson) Tatum. She married Everett Cresap Dec. 23, 1932. She had been a homemaker all her life and was a member of the New Hope Christian Union Church of rural Winterset and the Madison County Farm Bureau Women organization.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two grandsons.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Linda Spencer (husband Jerry) of Winterset; one son, Dwight Cresap (wife Jan) of Grand Junction, Colo.; one sister Eleanor Hoover of Oskaloosa; one brother, Lawrence Tatum of New Providence; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
