IS HER MIDDLE NAME MABEL OR MABLE?
For many years I followed the spelling as "Mabel" as that was how it was spelled in the "Family Record of Jefferson Davis Shelton" and that was how it was spelled on her tombstone. However, just this week (May 2013) I came across letters that she wrote to my grandmother (Ora) (her sister). Mable signed as "Mable". A 1903 list that Ora made of students at the "singing school" had her listed as Mable. Her marriage license to A. E. Morris is spelled "Mable", but that could have just been the clerk. As of today, May 4, 2013, I am changing my records to reflect "Mable".
July 11, 2014 - her death certificate (available on FamilySearch) has it spelled "Mable". I still will go with "Mable". "Texas, Deaths, 1890-1976," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/K3XC-JN5 : accessed 11 Jul 2014), Clara Mable Trussell, 09 Sep 1968; citing certificate number 71972, State Registrar Office, Austin; FHL microfilm 2137188.

Aunt Mable was born in Cedar County, Missouri and came to Texas when her father moved here. She married Arthur Edward Morris Nov 8, 1909 in Henderson County, Texas. They had three children: Elizabeth Ann Morris, Thomas Jefferson Morris and Jesse Martel Morris. Sadly Arthur was killed in World War I. Aunt Mable then married Charles Monroe Trussell in Henderson County, Texas Aug 1, 1917. They had three children:
Barnie Matthew Trussell, Bonnie May Trussell and Willard Edgar Trussell.
