Hope Williamson Perkins Sanders of Gulfport peacefully passed away in her home on Monday, June 29th, 2009 at the age of 90. Hope was born in Sandersville, MS on September 25, 1918 and is of the Baptist faith. She lived in Hickory, Meridian, Pascagoula, and Gulfport, and graduated from Hickory High School. Hope enjoyed being a homemaker after retiring from Ingalls Shipbuilding in the early 1980's. She received pleasure from gardening, baking, sewing, and taking care of others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodie Stanhope Williamson and Grace Rogers Williamson; her husband of 36 years Eugene Revis Perkins; her second husband, Walker P. Sanders; one brother and two sisters, Roger Clinton Williamson, Bonnie Gatlin Blass, and Pauline Wartz. She will be missed by her daughters, Sandra Hope Martin of Friendswood, TX and Jo Tieslau (Tim) of Gainesville, GA; five grandchildren, Ashley Hope Cassell (Kurt), Jennifer Mosing (Kirk), Tyree Thomas (Toby), Heidi Tieslau, and Brian Tieslau; nine great-grandchildren; her siblings, Grace Prosser of Gulfport and Truman E. Williamson of Indian Harbor, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Debbie Gatlin, her caregivers, and the Camellia Hospice team that enabled her to remain comfortably in her home. The funeral service will be Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
