She was born November 1, 1917, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Hugh and Mildred (Conn) Allingham. On January 1, 1940, she married Elmer L. Draving, who preceded her in death on April 6, 2004.
Mrs. Draving, a Van Wert High School graduate, attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa for two years, where she affiliated with Alpha Lambda Chapter of Delta Gamma sorority. She completed her degree at Defiance College and taught in the Van Wert City School system until her retirement in 1978.
She maintained her membership at First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, where she had formerly served as a deacon and as a member of Ruth-Esther Circle. In 1936, she joined Van Wert Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and in 1949 became its worthy matron. She had life memberships in the Van Wert Woman's Club and the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. Other affiliations included Van Wert County Retired Teachers, TWIG II and the once-active Chautauqua Club and Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia J. (Robert) Walker of Fort Myers, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Ashley Hart Walker of London, England.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with the Rev. Tom Steensma officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert.
