Adele Sudeiha Sudiha passed away peacefully on July 1st at Gordon Oaks Convalescent Center, surrounded by her family. She was 96 years old and a resident of Gordon Oaks Convalescent Center for the last five years. She was born in Evergreen, AL on August 24, 1912, to Nassife and Lamya Kahalley Sudeiha. She moved with her family to Bay Minette, Alabama, at a young age where she spent her childhood. In 1927, she moved to Mobile with her parents, brothers, Fred and Mitchell, and sister, Mary. She proudly graduated from Murphy High School in 1930. After high school, she worked as a sales associate at Zoghby's Department store for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Namy Sudiha, Sr., daughter, Naomi Sudiha, granddaughter, Lynette Gabriel, parents Nassife and Lamya Sudeiha, brothers Fred Sudeiha, Sr. & Mitchell Sudeiha, and brother-in-law Howard Hale Sheldon. She is survived by a son, Namy Sudiha, Jr., daughter, Yvonne (Wadie) Gabriel, grandson, Michael Gabriel, all of Mobile, one sister, Mary Sudeiha Sheldon of Columbus, Ohio, and one sister-in-law, Ann M. Sudeiha of Mobile, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She married Namy Sudiha, Sr. of Long Island, NY in 1946, and together they owned and operated a Mobile grocery business for 25 years. Mrs. Sudiha was a charter member of the Lebanese-American Club of Mobile, as well as a member of the Lebanese Club Ladies' Auxillary, and was proud of her Lebanese heritage throughout her lifetime. She was a supporter and member of MARC, and a volunteer with St. Jude on the Bay. She took great pride in cooking Lebanese cuisine for her family and friends, as well as volunteering to help cook some of the delicious delicacies served at the St. Jude on the Bay charity auction. Mrs. Sudiha enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was deeply loved be her family. Adele Sudiha lived her life with dignity, strength, and courage, and with love for God and for her family. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed be her family and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, July 6, 2009 from 5-8 pm, at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 10 am, from the chapel at Radneys Funeral Home. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery, Dauphin Island Parkway. Mrs. Adele S. Sudiha - Funeral services were held from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home Dauphin Street on Tuesday July 7, 2009 at 10:00am. Officiating was Rev. Glen Davis assisted by Rev. Steve Kennedy. Pallbearers were, Michael Gabriel, Fred Sudeiha, Jr., Jim Sudeiha, Howie Sheldon, Parker Kahalley, Joe Davis, Gene Petro and Raymond Zoghby. Burial was in Pine Crest Cemetery.
