Emma E Floyd Herring
Mrs. Emma E. Herring Is Called By Death

After an attack of paralysis early Thursday morning, Mrs. Emma E. Herring died Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cannie Anderson on Douglas Street.
Mrs. Herring was born in Pike County, Ala., 57 years ago. Her maiden name was Floyd. She was married to George Lem Herring in 1886. Her husband died February 20, 1925.
Mrs. Herring was deeply devoted to her family and to her Christian duties. She was ever ready to comfort the distressed and aid the needy to the extent of her ability.

She was the mother of six children. Five of them survive her. They are Mrs. Cannie Anderson, Opp; Mrs. Callie J. Butler, Andalusia; W. T. Herring, Florala; J. L. Herring, Andalusia, and J. C. Herring, Montgomery, besides three brothers and one sister and a wide circle of relatives. It can be said of her, her family was devoted to her and those who knew her best loved her the most.

Her body was laid to rest in Mt. Zion cemetery at Straughn, Monday, to await the resurrection morn. Eld. J. B. Farmer of Florala conducted the funeral services.
Among the relatives and friends who attended the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Will Floyd, Mr. Early, Misses Leara, Ruby and Lena Floyd of Troy, Mrs. Becca Senn and Gardner Herring, Josh Amons and wife of Troy, Perry and John Floyd of Gantt.
