Mabel Minerva Shreve was a daughter of James Orsen Shreve and his wife Mary Hunt. She was born in Erie, Pa. She married Louis Edgar Field (1882-1943) on 11 May 1910, in Volusia Co., Florida. He was a son of John Andrew Field (1846-1883) and his wife Mary Adeline Wilkinson (1846-1906) of Cabarrus County, NC, and had moved to Florida with his brothers, Charles and John, sometime around 1907.

Mabel and her sister, Lillian B. Shreve (c. 1883-?), were living together in DeLand, Volusuia Co., Fla. at the time of the 1910 census, and they were listed as dressmakers. Lillian married Louis' brother, John Elswick Field (1877-1956) on 1 Oct. 1910. Lillian apparently died sometime before 1920. John remarried around 1927.

Mabel and Louis were living in DeLand, Volusia Co., Florida in 1910 and 1920. By 1930, they'd moved to Fort Myers, Lee Co., Fla. They were still in Fort Myers in 1935, but evidently came back to North Carolina simetime before 1940. They lived at Kannappolis, Cabarrus Co., NC.

Mabel and Louis had two sons Robert Edgar Field (2 Feb. 1911-?, was living in Kannapolis in 1986) and Louis Wilkinson Field (30 June 1916-24 April 1999, d. Lakeland, Polk County, Florida).
