Mr. Tommy Clayton Cox, 58, of 1306 Wellington Hills Circle, Salisbury, N.C., entered into eternal peace Friday, April 25, 2008, after a long battle with cancer.

Born August 16, 1949, in Anderson County, S.C., he was the son of Sybil C. Ross and the late Roy Cox.

Tommy was employed with HBD Industries for 37 years as the plant superintendent and a member of Franklin Baptist Church in Salisbury. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War.

He was a loving father, spouse, brother, son and friend to all.

Survivors include his wife, Alice M. Cox of the home; daughter, Cyndi Cox Johnson and her husband Mikee; and grandson, Brady Clayton Johnson, all of Orangeburg, S.C.; two sisters, Joan C. Plunkett and her husband, Ray, of Belton, S.C. and Debra L. Ross of Williamston, S.C.; and niece, Trista L. Kelly of Orangeburg, S.C.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Franklin Baptist Church in Salisbury, officiated by the Rev. Joe Thomas, Pastor. The family will see friends following the service.

Burial will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday in Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Greenville, S.C., with military honors.

Memorials may be made to Franklin Baptist Church, 3810 Hwy. 601, Salisbury, NC 28144.
