Mrs. Stanley Clara Copa, age 90, a resident of Pierz, MN, died May 17, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital in Brainerd, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial was held May 20 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding, MN, with Father Roger Thoennes officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Clara was born February 26, 1910, to Joseph and Anna (Wielinski) Rutz in Little Falls, MN. She was united in marriage to Stanley Copa on August 3, 1940, at Holy Family Church in Belle Prairie. They moved to Platte Township where they farmed all their lives. Clara was very active on the farm raising her children. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality.

Survivors include her husband Stanley of Pierz; daughters, Beverly Copa of Pierz, and Sue Sobiech and husband Duane of Pierz; brothers, Martin Rutz of Flensburg, MN, and Tony Rutz of Flensburg; sisters, Rose Copa of Little Falls, Eveylyn Regnell of Flensburg, and Leona Yanta of Long View, WA; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Simon and Frank Rutz; sisters, Susan Rutz, Anne Rutz and Verna Hlad.

Casketbearers were Mike Sobiech, Tony Sobiech, Kevin Sobiech, Jackie Lashinski, Jason Lashinski and Tom Copa.

Gift bearers were her Godchildren, Sandra Bescheinen, Karen Ringwelski, David Rutz and Darrell Posterick.
