Rufus Kyle Noe, son of Charles and Amanda Noe, was born in Hancock county Tennessee, July 8, 1860 where he grew to manhood. In 1879 he was married to Martha E. Haynes and resided near Rosehill in Lee county, Va. Here seven children were born, two of whom died in infancy. In 1893 he moved to Kansas where the three youngest children were born. His wife preceded him in death five years and his oldest son died in 1935. The children surviving are Mrs. Mary Callahan of Topeka, Miss Flora Noe of Great Bend; five sons, Wiley and Harrison of Wilder, Idaho, John of Los Angeles, Clarence of Wetmore and LeRoy of Topeka. The funeral was held at the Wetmore Methodist church Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Earl O Minturn, assisted by Rev. A. H. Christensen, conducting. Mrs. Charles Beam and Mrs. James Grubb, Jr., sang. Mrs. Andy Diekman was at the piano. The pallbearers were grandsons. Mr. Noe was a successful farmer in this community for many years. Since the death of his wife he has lived with his children.
