President of Scotts Hill Lions club this year is Ellis E. Scott, former mayor of the municipality.

Mr. Scott is a native Henderson Countian, born at Sardis August 18, 1897. He is the son of Jeptha Ralph Scott and Matilda Ann (Winchester) Scott.

He is a cashier and vice president of the Farmers State Bank at Scotts Hill, a position he has held for the past four years. Prior to assuming this position, he operated a general store in Scotts Hill for about ten years.

Mr. Scott has also served as a teacher in Henderson, Decatur and Hardin Counties, and was attendance officer for Henderson County from 1930- 1932. He attended elementary and high schools as well as a business school.

In 1947, Mr. Scott entered the ministry and has been engaged in pastoral and evangelistic work in Tennessee and Kentucky since. He is a Baptist.

In August 1918, he married Florence Buck and they have five children, Nell, Raymond, Maxine, Josephine and Elizabeth.
