Services for Mrs. Willie W. Weeks of Ackerman, who died Wednesday morning at the Choctaw County Hospital after a long illness, were held at 3 this afternoon at the Baptist Church at Ackerman. The Rev. D. L. Hill and the Rev. Ira Metts officiated. Burial was in Enon Cemetery with Adams Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Weeks, who was 92 years old, was active in civic and church functions, serving as president of the Women's Missionary Union of the Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was an organizer and charter member of the Ackerman Twentieth Club.
Born in Winston County, Mrs. Weeks lived for many years at Ackerman. She was the widow of Dr. J. D. Weeks.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Henry Kennedy of Greenwood, Miss Thelma Weeks, and Mrs. Bess W. Russell, both of Ackerman: a brother, Finas Woodward of Gulfport, three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.
