Anne Robson was known as Annie all her life. Born in Aspatria, Cumberland, England, she was the olest child of Andrew and Margaret Robson. She worked as a dressmaker when she was 17 and three years later in 1884 married Isaac Davidson, a young coal miner who lived in a near-by village. They probably met through her father who was a coal miner for a good part of his life in England, although he also farmed in the Aspatria area.

Annie and Isaac had several children in Aspatria before coming to the US in 1887. Her sister, Jane, traveled with them. They settled in Scribner, Dodge County for a time and also lived in Omaha, Douglas County, before moving north. Jane went with her parents to Cedar County. Annie and Isaac settled on a farm in Dixon County, although they did live in Dixon and Concord. Dixon and Cedar counties are adjacent. Isaac worked as a barber for some of the years he lived in Dixon. According to one of my aunts, Isaac was a womanizer. Annie died a few years following her husband's death; she was visiting her daughter Ethel and son-in-law Ruhle Ross.

Gravesite Details Annie is a granddaughter of Jane Wilkinson Robson [38083265].
