Alvin L. Litton (Short Gap)

SHORT GAP, W.Va. - Alvin Leroy Litton, 64, of Short Gap, currently of Devlin Manor Nursing Home, Cumberland, Md., passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at the nursing home.

Born Oct.19,1942, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late James William Leroy Litton and Emma G. (Shipley) Litton.

Mr. Litton was retired from Schmidts Baking Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam, a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Pattersons Creek, and Goldstar Post V.F.W., Ridgeley.

Mr. Litton was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Roberta R. (Long) Litton; three daughters, Elaine M. Yantz and husband David R. of Wheeling, Barbara Ann Cox and husband Darren L. of Kernes, Tami Sue Taylor and husband Michael D. of Mechanicsville, Va.; one brother, Edward E. Litton and wife Phyllis of Manassas, Va., and their children, Scott Litton and Cena Rice; two granddaughters, Cierra Yantz and Kaylie Yantz, both of Wheeling; and two uncles, with whom he was reared, Clarence E. Murray II and Albert F. Murray, both of Carpendale; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, (scarpellifh.com) Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Rowe officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
