He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Estelle Alford Skipper.
He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Alford; a son, Chris Alford and his wife, Angie, of Conway; a daughter, Kim Carney and her husband, Ethan, of Myrtle Beach; and three grandchildren, Kayla Alford and Christa Alford, both of Conway, and Dylan Carney of Myrtle Beach.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Juniper Bay Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Thrower and the Rev. Micah Hucks will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
