Mrs. Kreulen died June 2, 2007, in Tyler. She was born in Sutton, Ark., Aug. 18, 1918, to Howard and Martha Erwin. She grew up there and was valedictorian of her graduating class. She became a member of Green Acres Baptist Church in 1955, four months after its founding. A former member of Katherine Speas Garden Club, she served as president for one year.
Mrs. Kreulen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Morris Mercx Kreulen; her daughter, Martha Ann (Bootie) Oswalt; one sister, Marian Sherfey; and one brother, Arthur Dale Erwin. She is survived by a daughter, Mandy Vinson, Tyler; two grandsons, Chase Oswalt and his wife Amy, Dallas, Christopher Jones, Waco; son-in-law, Dr. Charles Oswalt III, Waco; two sisters, Margaret Swift Owen, Tyler, and Rose Erwin McDougald, Sutton, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chase Oswalt, Christopher Jones, Cameron Hall, Christian Hall, Kevin Blair and John Cobb.
