"The Newberry Herald and News, 16 March 1892"
We wish to make a few remarks on the death of our dear friend, Mrs. Jennie Peterson, who was laid to rest in the Mt.Zion graveyard, March 8th. Having finished her work on this earth to take her to her home in heaven comforted with the sweet thought, that our loss is her gain. She was very cheerful and affectionate in her disposition and therefore deservedly was the friendship of many. She was a devoted wife, and as a stepmother, but few were ever loved so dearly. Death is sad, but it is God's doings and we, his humble children, should solvent to his holy will, but how hard to give up our our dear friends. She was a bride happily a year ago and now an angel. Her stay in our community was short, but she made many warm friends who loved her dearly. 'Tis hard oh! how sad to part with you, dear friend, but how happy we are to think you are sweetly resting with your little babe in heaven. She will be greatly missed but her memory will be cherished till we meet to part no more. We extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy.

Obit for L. Jennie Peterson and Infant son in the "Newberry Herald and News, Wednesday, March 9, 1892"
Mrs. Peterson, wife of Mr. Warren G. Peterson of No. 6 Township, died on Monday, this instant, aged about 24 years. Their infant died several days previous to the death of the mother.
