Johann Tobias (John) Weidinger was the son of Georg Weidinger and Anna Katherine Zeh. He escaped the coming tyanny of Germany and arrived in Ross County, Ohio with his small family in 1860. He lived near Yellow Bud in Ross County until early 1888, when his wife Anna Katherine Distler became terminally ill with cancer. He then moved his wife and youngest child Elizabeth to his son John's farm south of Darbyville, Muhlenberg Township, in Pickaway County. After Anna's death on 25 Nov 1888, he moved to his son George's home near Mt. Sterling in Madison County. He died on 22 Jun 1901 at his daughter's home in Andersonville, near Chillicothe, Ohio. He was interred at Springbank Cemetery, near Yellow Bud, Ohio.
