Daughter of the late David Alva and Cora Belle Hedrick Kimbrel, she grew up in Carlton, OK. She graduated from Canton High School in 1938. She earned her business education degree from Phillips University. She married James Lloyd Haigler on February 21, 1942. While he served in the Army Air Force overseas, she taught school in Pond Creek and Canton and worked in the accounting office of United States Gypsum. They moved to Alexandria, LA, in 1944, and she worked as a statistical clerk in the civilian personnel office on the Air Force Base. They moved to Carlton in 1945, wehre they farmed, and then south of Southard in 1960. She returned to the personnel office of United States Gypsum in 1952 and worked there 20 years. She earned her master of business administation degree from Southwestern State College in 1969. She was an active member of Oasis Church. She was involved in the women's committee of Blaine County Farm Bureau. She served as chairman of the Blaine County Republican Party and was a delegate from Oklahoma at the 1979 Republican National Convention. She was involved in the pro-family organization Eagle Forum. She was survived by one son, Mike Haigler; one daughter, Sandy Clark; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in deatth by her husband, James; one daughter; and two brothers. Her funeral was held July 3, 2009, at Oasis Church in Watonga, OK>
