Robert served as a Private, 2nd Quartermaster Company, 2nd Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on December 12, 1942 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.

Robert died in the "Line Of Duty" of a non-battle related incident in Belgium during the war.

He was originally interred in Belgium and was later repatriated here on July 20, 1949.
