A young life taken much too soon.
Her family called her "Fat Legs," but they said Dannarriah Finley would be most remembered for her wide smile and sweet nature. The 4-year-old, whose fifth birthday would have been July 22, was found dead on July 8, 2002. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled to death.

Mr. Edwards, Dannarriah's father remembers the fun activities he and his daughter did together. "She always wanted to go to McDonald's," he said. "And she liked playing on the slide at the park." Edwards last saw his baby the first week of June. He was scheduled to visit her on July 4, the day she disappeared. After receiving the news of Dannarriah's body, a visibly upset Edwards ran to Dannariah's mother house through the front door. Mr. edwards cousin, Miss Tanner, went outside to talk to relatives gathered in an open field down the street from Dannarriah's home. "It's her, it's her," Tanner told them, fighting back tears.

Dannarriah's teachers at North Early Learning Center said she was a sweet-natured girl who got along well with classmates and rarely got in trouble at school. Dannarriah was a pre-kindergarten student there, and would have entered kindergarten the following fall. Teachers at the school on Tuesday put together a photo album of
Dannarriah at various school functions and gave it to the family. There were photos of Dannarriah dressed in a cowgirl outfit, playing with toys on the floor and others of her mugging for the camera.

Now, those close to Dannarriah are left wondering who could have hurt the pretty little girl and why.
