Wilson S. Stuter 86, for many years a resident of Valparaiso, died Sunday night in at the home of his daughter Mrs. Louise Terrill in Rogers Park, Chicago. He was for more than 40 years an employee of the old Valparaiso- Chicago accommodation train. later he had a run from Ft. Wayne to Chicago.He retired from service a number of years ago. Mr. Stuter was a native of Ohio and served in the Civil War and a member of Captain Brown GAR of this city. Surviving are a son Foster Stuter of Los Angeles, CA and a daughter Mrs. FA Terrill. His wife Mrs. Geneva Stoddard Stuter proceeded him in death a number of years ago. His body will be brought here Tuesday morning at 11:04 over the Pennsylvania Railroad and taken to CW Bartholomew and Son Funeral Chapel on Washington street where the funeral will be conducted at 11:30.with Rev. Chester W. Wharton of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Adam's Cemetery south of Valparaiso.

In the Civil War he was with Co. B 17th OVVO From Fairfield County, OH. He and his brother Perciville Stuter were on Sherman's march to the sea. He wrote a letter home to his sister Samantha Stuter saying he was in Acworth, GA and Gen. Polk had just been killed.
