Husband of Helen M. Glod.

Walter was one of three sons and seven daughters born to Alexander Borowski and Amelia Jakubowski. The family had a farm in Derry, New Hampshire where they raised their family.

Brother of Eugene H. and Frank E. Borowski. All three sons of Alexander & Amelia served in World War II, Eugene giving his life.

Walter was a member of the U.S.Army Rangers, Fox Company which was depicted in the movie Saving Private Ryan.
On February 4, 2010, Gov. John Lynch declared that day as Walter Borowski day in the state of New Hampshire. That being the day that Walter was the recipient of the French Legion of Honor medal.
