Ottumwa: Brian L Emery, 60, of 14561 98th Ave., died Feb, 1, 2005, at home on his farm.
He was born Nov 1, 1944 in Wapello County to Edward Carl and Ruth Maxine Reeves Emery. He married Judy Hammond July 12, 1964.
He was a graduate of Hedrick High School in 1963. He had owned and operated Emery Elevator in Highland Center, was a partner in Avery Acres, had pioneered ground source heating and cooling in southeast Iowa and farmed near Highland Center for over 40 years. He was a member of Christ's Church, was past-presidant of Wapello County Pork Producer's past -president of Iowa Heat Pump Association and had been a 4-H leader .
Survivors include his wife: two sons, Jeff (Cindy) Emery of Hedrick, Terry (Melanie) Emery of Bloomfield; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Cody, Hailey, Kayla, Austin, Colton and Kaitlyn; brother, Roger (Denise ) Emery of Albany, Oregon; a sister Sandra (Ronnie) Barron of Aurora, Colorado; sister-in-law, Deb Emery of Hedrick; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dennis and Shirley Dillon of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Kim and Brent Emery.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Dan Smith and Bill Payne officiating. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery.
