Arthur "Tony" Alexander, age 74, died at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill on Thursday, July 2, 2009.

Tony was born in Chicopee, Massachusetts on July 11, 1934 to Arthur A. Alexander, Sr. and Ermilinda Hitchock Alexander.

Tony was a resident of Hemphill since 1990 and formerly resided in Hitchcock, Texas. He was a Construction Safety Engineer, a member of Saint Pius Catholic Church, a Navy retiree and a member of Sabine County VFW Post 10351, Hemphill American Legion Post and Marine Corp League.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2009 at 10am at Saint Pius Catholic Church in Hemphill with Father Joe Nasser presiding.

Interment will follow at Hemphill City Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Alexander of Hemphill, Texas, sons, Arthur Alexander, III of Massachusetts and Walter Alexander of Kansas, daughters Bambi Alexander-Borel of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Doreen Moran of Austin, Texas and Kim Clark of Gladewater, Texas, Grandchildren, Emily and Gage Borel, Lauren, Morgan & Samatha Clark and Shawn Tovar.
