Note: not to be confused with George W. Cline, memorial #37423628, son of Frederick, memorial #37290255, and Martha Monfort Cline, per member #47664540. That George W. Cline died in 1910 and is buried in Florida with his parents.

*** I am in the process of ordering the Death certificates and Marriage records, with the info I will hopefully be able to verify the Parentage of George Washington Cline and put a close to any error or confusion.***

George Washington Cline Sr, married Hannah J Eviston on April 21st 1862 in East St Louis, St Clair County Illinois. They settled in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana where their first two Children, George Jr and Edmond B were born. Their next four children Elizabeth, Rosa,Thomas, and Metta were born in Newton/South Muddy Jasper County Illinois, where they had settled and began farming.
On May 11 1889 a Public Notice was published in the Newton Illinois Paper, Announcing the purchase of the Old Hotel Property known as the Brooks House. The Motto for the Hotel "Clean Beds and Plenty of Food"
One year after the opening in 1899 George Passes away in Newton Jasper County Illinois and is Buried in the Riverside Cemetery.
