Mrs. Silvia Ellen Rutherford, 78, died in Decatur Macon County Hospital Friday, July 25, 1947.
Silvia was born November 22, 1868, a daughter of Phillip and Lucinda (Speake) Roberts in Lexington, Kentucky. She married George Silas Rutherford on November 4, 1885, he preceded her in death on December 25, 1941.
Survivors include two daughters, Myrtle and Mary, eight sons, A.D., John, A.J., Jesse, Hollie, Joseph, C.C. and Thomas, two brothers, Joe and Albert, three sisters, Cynthia Thompson, Almedia Eliot and Sally Pelser.
A former resident of Mount Zion, she came to Decatur six years ago to live with her daughter, Myrtle. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.
Funeral services were 1:30 PM, Monday in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at the Mount Zion Cemetery.
