LONACONING,MARYLAND -- Mrs. Sarah E. McKenzie, 76, died yesterday at Miners Hospital, Frostburg.

A native of Avilton, she was a daughter of the late Otha and Annabelle (Durst) Garlitz. Her husband was the late Urban McKenzie.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leo Danahey, Elm Grove, W. Va., and Mrs. Bernard Cordial, Lonaconing; two sons, Walter and Lawrence McKenzie, both of Lonaconing; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lela Schaub, Eckhart; two brothers, Harry Garlitz, Elm Grove, and Joseph Garlitz, with the Armed Forces in Japan.

Mrs. McKenzie was a member of Lonaconing Homemakers, the Firemen's Auxiliary, and the Sodality at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. The body is at the residence on Detmold Street. Requiem mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Frederick Duke as celebrant.

Interment will be in the church cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the residence today at 8 p. m.
