Mrs. Jane Stinson, one of the pioneer residents of Linn county, died at the family residence north of the city Sunday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock of pneumonia, at the age 81 years. The funeral will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. The service will be conducted by Rev. Gillibind of the Kenwood Park church and the interment will be in Shiloh cemetery.
An hour and a half before the death of Mrs. Stinson the funeral of her son, Samuel Stinson, whose death occurred Saturday, was held from the Shiloh church. Mr. Stinson was 44 years of age. He was married to Miss Francis Oliver September 25, 1892. This happy union was blessed with two children, Leland Oliver and Hazel Leota. On October 25, 1898, death claimed the wife and mother, leaving the heart broken father and husband and the two little children. Since then Mr. Stinson had given his children the loving care they needed and had filled so far as it is possible for human hearts to do the place of both father and mother.
He leaves to mourn his death, besides his children, two brothers, Alfred Byron of Texas and Hiram of Kansas, and five sisters, Mrs. L. Van Note, Mrs. Charles Van Note, Mrs. Henry Kine, Mrs. Ollie Roy and Mrs. Frank Wilson. All of his sisters were present with him in his illness.
