Son of Frank Crawford and Maud Robinson Crawford.

Husband of Jesse Crawford who resided in Los Angeles, California during the war.

Russell, who resided at 330 Tatnall Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Chief Warrant Officer with the 742nd AAA Gun Battalion, U.S. Army during World War II.

He was killed in the "Line Of Duty" in a military transport plane accident in New Guinea during the war. He had served in the Army for twenty-five years at the time of his death.

He was originally interred overseas and was later repatriated here on March 23, 1952.
