Visitation The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hawkins Chapel, 102 B Street, Lenoir City. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at New Providence Baptist Church.
Funeral Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m.
Interment Burial will follow in the New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Walker officiating.

Lou Ella Morell Norris entered her earthly home June 9, 1913 in Speers Ferry, Virginia. She went to her heavenly home April 26, 2012.


She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Clifford Norris; infant son, Samuel Norris; father and mother, William (Bill) and Laura Morell; sister, Bessie Ketron and husband, Aden of Kingsport, TN; sister, Pauline Norris and husband, Scott, Lake Mary, FL; four brothers, Rev. Carter Morell and wife, Louise, Kingsport, TN, Clarence Morell and wife, Mary Bell, Lenoir City, TN, Cecil Kyle Morell, and wife, Odessa, Johnson City, TN, and Ivan Freeman Morell who gave his life in World War II; sisters-in-law, Ada Jenkins, Lenoir City, TN, Mildred Partin, Athens, TN and Agnes Wampler, Lenoir City, TN, and brother-in-law, J. Hollis Norris, Loudon, TN.


She is survived by six wonderful children and their companions: Dr. Roy Kyle Norris and wife, Etta Jane, Tazewell, TN, Carl Norris, Paul Curtis Norris and wife, Glenda, Loudon, TN, Ella Rhea Porter, Knoxville, TN, Lynn Norris and wife, Patsy, Surgoinsville, TN, Martha Lou Cannon and husband, Gene, Loudon, TN; twelve grandchildren: Dr. David M. Norris and wife, Sherri, Knoxville, TN, Jeff Norris and wife, Cindy, New Tazewell, TN, Angela Kay Nobles and husband, Ken, Philadelphia, Carla Ross and husband, David, Lenoir City, TN, Charles Lynn Norris and wife, Melissa, Loudon, TN, Kevin Norris and wife, Annette, Lenoir City, TN, Kenda Evans and husband, Joel, Lenoir City, TN, Kurtisha Gayle Norris, Loudon, TN, Lisa Marie Vineyard and husband, H. E., Powell, TN, Jeremy Norris and wife, Amanda, Smyrna, TN, Jason Norris and wife, Rachel, Murfreesboro, TN, Rev. C., Lenoir City, TN; three special sisters-in-law, Barbara Burkhart and husband, Bob, Maryville, TN, Ruby Lee, Lenoir City, TN and Evelyn Norris, Loudon, TN. Mrs. Norris was blessed to have many nieces, nephews, and special friends.


She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She worked hard, and enjoyed caring for her family. She was an example for them to follow. She always prayed and thanked the Lord for her family for they were very dear to her. She was faithful and the oldest member of New Providence Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School Class, worked with the GA's (Girls Auxiliary), and Acteen Girls. She was always ready to help with all mission work. She loved to give and supported her church. She always said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive".


She retired from Loudon County School System after working 30 years. She told the Lord what time she had left she wanted to give it to Him. She stayed busy working at the church, helping neighbors, visiting the sick, cooking and carrying food to those in need, volunteering to help where needed. She was an Avid Quilter. She quilted many quilts for her family and friends. She worked as long as her health permitted. She had a wonderful and busy life. She cared for herself until the Lord called her home. (This was her prayer).

In lieu of flowers, it was Mrs. Norris' desire that memorials be made to New Providence Baptist Church Building Fund.
