May 10, 1936-Jan. 16, 2006 PELZER - Martha Holliday Jones Mattison, 69, wife of Pastor James Henry Mattison, of 250 Stoneybrook Road, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006 at her home. Born in Liberty, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Alfred and Mae Burgess Holliday. She was twice married, first to the late Loie Jones, was a homemaker and a member of Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith, where she volunteered her time and was a youth worker for over 40 years. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter, Rebecca Jones Dauksas of Pelzer; son, Timothy Loie Jones of Morrow, Ga.; sister, Elaine Steen of Liberty; brothers, Fulton Holliday, Kinard Holliday, both of Liberty; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melody Ballard. The family received friends 2-3 p.m. Saturday at Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith with a memorial service following at 3 p.m. Pastor Mike Montgomery officiated. Memorials were made to the Martha Mattison Scholarship Fund at Atlanta Bible College, P. O. Box 100,000, Morrow, Ga. 30260. Gray Mortuary of Pelzer was in charge of arrangements.
