Husband of Jane (Sexton) Alsip.
OBITUARY:
John Alsip, 93, Fifth Street Road, Died at 1 p.m., Saturday afternoon at his home.
He was a member of the Steeles Chapel Christian Church, member of Hugh Harris Lodge No 938 F. & AM, and a former member of the Whitley County Board of Education.
The funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., today at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Grant Reed and the Rev. Hobart Eaton. Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery by the Hart Funeral Home.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Masons served as honorary pallbearers and had charge of the graveside service.
He is survived by six sons, Howard Alsip, Falls Road, James W. Alsip, Roseville, Mich., Allie F. Alsip, Cincinnati, Ohio, Joe M. Alsip, Lexington, Steely Alsip, Route W, Corbin, and Clayton Alsip, Tullahoma, Tenn.; five daughters, Mrs. Stella Ward, Falls Road, Mrs. Mella Floyd, Goshen, Ohio, Mrs. Juda Ward, Falls Road, Mrs. Leota Monhollen, Falls Road, and Mrs. Mary Monhollen, Titusville, Fla.; 32 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 15 great, great, grandchildren.
