Penny was the daughter of M.C. "Red" Gibbins and Mickey Finn Gibbins. She graduated from Bowie High School in 1965 as a majorette and a member of the National Honor Society. She attended business college in Fort Worth and married Jerry Lancaster on Aug. 6, 1966 in Bowie.
She worked as a driver's license technician at the Department of Public Safety until her retirement after 26 years of service. Penny was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bowie serving in a variety of ways, including as co-chairman of the decorating committee.
She was a selfless servant to all. She would brighten up a room as soon as she entered and make people feel welcome. Penny was a devoted wife, mother and "Granna."
She is survived by her husband, daughter, son, grand-children, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
