Findley-Isbell-Bryant-Slaton-Dalrymple farm on Marshall County (Alabama) Road 372 on a fork of Shoal Creek at Asbury, near the DeKalb County Line.
It was listed as an Alabama Century-Heritage Farm by the Alabama Historical Commission and the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries in 1981.

This farm, originally part of extensive land holdings patented by John Findley soon after the removal of the Indians, was the last parcel of the Findley property remaining in possession of the Findley descendants. John Findley left it to his niece, Jane Dowdy Isbell, mother of Caledonia Jane Slaton. The large farm was subdivided in the early 1920s. In 1922, the particular 120-acre parcel shown in the photo was acquired by Talmadge Bryant, a teacher at Jane Isbell High School. Bryant sold it to the Slatons, connections of the Isbells and Dalrymples. In 1943 it was purchased by Jane Dowdy's great-grandson W.M. Isbell Jr., whose mother owned an adjoining 40-acre tract as well as another farm one mile to the east which also had been part of the original farm. He deeded it in January 1970 to his sister Mildred Dalrymple, whose mother-in-law was a daughter of Martha Slaton Tidwell. The house in the photo was down the road from the Findley-Isbell farmhouse. This was Tal Bryant's mule barn but was converted into a residence by the Slatons. It was sold out of the family c1995. It was 100 years old when it was demolished in 2005. One other old residence on the original farm survived as a hay barn until its deterioration and final demolition in 2015 when it was well over 100 years old.

John B. Finley acquired a great deal of land in Alabama but returned to Georgia in 1851 where he married his young wife and remained for several years before returning to Alabama in the 1880s in poor health. His niece Jane Dowdy Isbell moved in with him and his wife to take care of him.

Not to be confused with another John B. Findley (1803-1894) from Virginia who married Harriet Malinda Morgan (sister of John Morgan who married Margaret Price b.1820 AL) and had a large family in DeKalb Co., AL. 1850-60; Marshall Co., 1866, 1870-80.
