Mother of Local Resident Dies In Mississippi
Funeral services for Mrs. Mima Magee Babington, 86, wife of the late William Walker Babington of Franklinton, who died at the home of her son, S. E. Babington, in Magnolia, Miss. on August 20, were held from the home in Magnolia, with Rev. R. C. Carter, pastor of the Covington Methodist church, assisting. Interment wasin the family plot of the Ellis cemetery.
She is survived by six sons, Robert of Jackson, Miss., William of New Orleans, John J. of Casa Grande, Arizona, Carl M. of New Orleans, Stephen E. of Magnolia, Miss., and Richard of Alexandria; three daughters, Mrs. Willie B. McNair of Baton Rouge, Miss Mima Babington of Thibodaux, and Mrs. Frank W. Jones of Covington, twenty six grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
Also surviving her are four stepchildren, Mrs. Lela B. Bickham, Michael Babington, Mrs. J. L. Brock of Franklinton, and Mrs. Lindsay McDougall of Covington, one sister, Mrs. O. D. Varnado of Silabee, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews among whom are Fleet J, Dallas, and Price Magee and Mrs. A. U. Peterson of Folsom.
