21st South Carolina Infantry (Harllee's Legion)

Son of James and Ann Elizabeth Fladger Graham, husband of Harriet Ellen Harllee. Robert died in Charleston from yellow fever.

"Married, at Marion C. H., on the 8th inst, by the Rev. Mr. Frierson, Mr. R. F. Graham to Miss H. Ellen, youngest daughter of the late Col. D. S. Harllee."

- Published in the Fayetteville Semi-Weekly Observer, January 19, 1857

"This true and large hearted son of South Carolina rose to a prominent position in his native state during a most eventful period in its history.

Under ordinary conditions, the qualities of his heart and the qualifications of his mind would, no doubt, would have presented him as one quietly and with dignity illustrating the virtues of private and social life, affording the characteristics of the esteemed and helpful neighbor, the kind and provident head of a family, the citizen wise to know and strong to perform the duties of civic life, and as one steadily making his way and extending his influence in a high and honorable profession and attaining its distinctions and rewards."
