James Clements Sr. was born on January 1,1835 in Ireland. He immigrated to this country shortly after marrying Margaret Graham on March 25,1859 in Newry,Ireland. In 1864 while living in Ellicottville,NY, he was able from frugal savings, buy farm land on Boise hill in Franklinville,NY. He would live there for the rest of his life.
James and Margaret had twelve children.
James died suddenly at his home of apoplexy on May 2,1896 and is buried in Mount Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville with his wife and several of his children.
