General Hospital from a sudden
illness.
Born in Carroll County, he was
the son of the late William
Russell and Helen Irene
Spencer Abbott.
He had worked in the
new home construction
field before being
disabled. He was a past
member of Carroll American
Legion Post No. 31, Molesville
VFW Post No. 467 and the Westminster
Moose Lodge.
Surviving are sons Douglas W.
Abbott of Hampstead and Bruce D.
Abbott of Ellicott City; daughter
Karen Brown of New Mexico; sisters
Mildred VanFossen of Westminster
and Faye Pearce of Fla.;
former wife Nancy Davis of Westminster;
close friend Patricia
Meekins of New Windsor; and
three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pritts
Funeral Home and Chapel, 412
Washington Rd., Westminster,
with the Rev. Dr. Frederick P. Eckhardt
officiating. Interment will be
in the Westminster cemetery.
The family will receive friends
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday
at the funeral home.
