Ordained Primitive Baptist minister. Often described as Elder Levi Isbell, which can be confusing since his uncle Levi Isbell was also a delegate to the Mud Creek Baptist Association.
Researchers sometimes call his uncle (the) Older Levi Isbell.

(Rev.) Levi Isbell married Sarah H. Birdwell at Enon Baptist Church in Huntsville, Madison County, Mississippi Territory (now Alabama), on Saturday, Aug. 10, 1816 (per son Elijah Miller Isbell's bible). (Madison County Marriage Book Vol. 1, p.257. Index says Aug. 30; the license appears to read "3d day of August, 1816.")

Son of William Zachariah and Sarah Richardson Isbell.
Grandson of Zachariah Isbell Jr. and Elizabeth (Miller) Isbell, Allen Alexander Richardson and Jemima (Boone) Richardson.
His father William Isbell was on record in Sevier Co., Tennessee, in 1799 and 1807, moved to Lincoln County near the Alabama state line, later in Madison Co., Alabama (1813-19), then back across the line in Lincoln County, Tennessee by 1820. He died in 1826.

The First Hundred Years, A History of Baptists in Jackson Co., Alabama from 1821 until 1921 by J. Nelson Varnell (Samford University Library, Special Collections),
vol. 2, page 17: "Elder Levi Isbell was born November 14, 1797, and died November 1, 1876. He was born in Tennessee, possibly in Sevier County and the son of William Isbell." Pages 17-19 mention James and John Isbell were his brothers. Also called Early Baptists of Jackson County, Alabama (Isbell Country by Odessa Isbell, p.24, citing pp. 45, 57-58, 64-65).

Since Rev. Levi Isbell is sometimes called Elder Levi Isbell, researchers usually call his uncle (the) Older Levi Isbell.
