Judea M. McKeehan was born, lived, and died in Whitley County, Kentucky .
Born the oldest of 11 children, to Thomas McKeehan and Sarah Wilson. She had four sisters and six brothers, including a set of twin brothers.
The paternal grandparents were Benjamin McKeehan and Mary Hickey. Benjamin served in the War of 1812 and moved his family to Whitley Co Ky from Tennessee. They are buried at Meadow Creek in Whitley Co Ky. There is a bronze marker at his grave, that is maintained by the US Government.About the age of 20/21, Judith was married to James Daniel Hart. He was a widower with seven children. They married in 1851. James was 15 years her elder From court records, he was granted a license to run a tavern in 1838. In 1851, about the time of their marriage he was granted another license to operate the tavern out of his home. Ironically, the security for this bond to run the tavern was Judea's grandfather, Peter Wilson.
