She was born on Jan. 19, 1918, in Kickapoo, Ill., to Floyd and Etta Best Chambers. She married Frank J. Kyle on Oct. 4, 1942, in Hannibal, Mo. He passed away on July 4, 2002, in Trivoli.
She also was preceded in death by one grandson, two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Richard F. (Kathy) Kyle of Long Lake, Minn.; two daughters, Henrietta (Ray) Burton and Carolyn Kyle, both of Trivoli; nine grandchildren, Christopher Burton, Dr. Catherine Frenette, David Nemiroff, Katie Nemiroff, Anna Nemiroff, Meghan Nemiroff, Matthew Kyle, Mandy Cullen and Kari Kyle; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marianna (Richard) Ivey of Edwards, Ill.
Helen worked in the accounting department at Fleming & Potter for many years.
She was a former member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a star pitcher for the Caterpillar Dieselettes in the 1940s.
Her greatest joy was time spent with family and friends. She enjoyed gardening and playing pinochle.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at St. Mary's Church in Kickapoo, with the Rev. Joseph Dondanville officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with a vigil service at 7:45 p.m. Additional visitation will be one hour before the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Health Care Center in Canton.
