DENVER CITY (Special) - Services for Roy Akin, 85, of Denver City will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Bob Webb officiating.
Burial will be in Denver City Memorial Park under direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Akin died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, in University Center in Lubbock.
He was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Rosston. He moved to Denver City from Monahans in 1951. He married Johnnie Smith on April 19, 1941, in Alvarado. He was a member of First Baptist Church, and he was a mason. He was a member of the Yoakum County Golf Course.
He worked for Amoco Oil Co. as a gauger.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ann Wilmot of Cayuga and Jennifer Marlow of Mineola; a brother, Ray of Gainesville; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
