Loving husband of Elizabeth(Clark)whom he married in 1853. Father of Elizabeth, Adda, Francis Jr. and Edward. Son of Frederick and Katharina(Bittner)Bender. Frank immigrated in 1851, first going to Lynn, Maine before Saginaw.

BENDER- The funeral of the late Francis W. Bender took place Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Abbie Rutherford, 136 South twelth street, Rev. T.E. Swan rector at St. Paul's Episcopal church officiating. Among the floral offerings were pieces from Wanigas Hive No. 423, L.O.T.M.M., Hose Companies No. 13, 15, and 19, and the grandchildren of the deceased. Interment took place in the family lot in Brady Hill Cemetery. Six grandsons of the deceased acting as pallbearers: R.Sutherland, J.Huckins, L. Wines, G. Wines, A. Haeger, and A.Cook.
