Miss Lena Hansen, 79, died early today at the home of her sister, Mrs. Elise Bruss at Brillion, with whom she made her home. She had been in failing health but was seriously ill only two days. Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Luecker funeral home in Brillion and interment will be in the New Holstein cemetery. Miss Hansen was born in New Holstein on January 14, 1863, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jergen Hansen. In 1890 she moved to Brillion to live with her sister. For many years she was clerk and bookkeeper at the Charles Bruss store. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Bruss and Mrs. Johanna Broeckert both of Brillion, two nephews and a niece.

Brillion – Miss Lena Hansen, 79, died here Wednesday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Elise Bruss, following a two day illness. Miss Hansen was born Jan. 14, 1863, at New Holstein, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jergen Hansen. Her early childhood was spent at New Holstein and Kiel. Fifty-two years ago she came to Brillion, where she was employed as a clerk and bookkeeper at the Charles Bruss Mercantile store. After the death of her brother-in-law, Mr. Bruss, and the sale of the store, she continued to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Bruss.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Elise Bruss and Mrs. Johanna Broeckert, both of Brillion; a niece, Mrs. Cora Thomsen of Brillion; and two nephews, Edwin Juno of Brillion and Arno Juno of Milwaukee.
